If you started your new food blog, are struggling to get more traffic to your site or just want to organize all the recipes in one place, then Yummly is a great social networking platform for you. With Yummly, you create an account that features food bloggers' recipes which helps in growing blog traffic.
There are many ways to grow traffic to your sites like FoodGawker, Foodyub, Pinterest, and many more. But if you submit recipes, you find a huge difference in traffic. I'm here to teach you how to submit recipes to Yummly!
WHAT IS YUMMLY
This is a social networking site but only for recipes. And believe me, it's a real charm. You can search for new recipes, share them with other members. But for food bloggers, it's a real gem as it helps in showcasing the recipe photos to the page with the link back to your site. If someone clicks the photo, they will come on your site, and you'll get more traffic.
The best thing is that unlike Foodagawker, etc you don't have to add all the details about the post. Just add the yum button on the site and when you click the link you'll be directed to Yummly. And their team will add photos, a list of ingredients, etc. And if you got any issues, the support team will help you out with everything. Here is our Publisher Page for This That More, notice the URL address: https://www.yummly.com/page/thisthatmore
Tips for Publisher Page: Submit your social media links and they will update your Publisher Page. Submit this Form! Also, when you submit this form they will ask you “What is the URL of your blog’s page on Yummly.” You want to use your Publisher Page URL, not your personal profile.
HOW TO GET TRAFFIC USING YUMMLY
Now you know what Yummly is, the next thing is how to use to get the traffic to your site. First and foremost is to add the Yum button for sharing the recipes. I have installed sumo plugin but you can install Yummly plugin in WordPress site, or there are many other sharing plugins that come with the Yum button configured.
Once you've configured the Yum button on your site, you can share the recipe on the Yummly page by clicking the button. When someone 'yummed' your recipes, the publisher page will automatically be created for you. Check my Publisher page here.
In fact, once you have your publisher page set up, submit this form to be considered for a feature. They sometimes pick submitted recipes to feature on their own social media and in their newsletter.
If you run into any trouble, you can always contact Yummly support team here. They have a great customer service and I always get a response back from them.
Don’t feel discouraged if you are not getting traffic from Yummly initially. Have patience and keep posting your recipes and you find a difference later on.
Hopefully this addition to your blog routine will help your incoming traffic grow. I would love to know your experience with Yummly. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
