Romantic Comedies (RomCom) are my favorite genre of movies, I just love them. I always wait for them to release, and at the first chance, I try to watch without any disturbance. And why not? Every RomCom has a sweet and happy love story. You get to fell in love with the characters, have that romantic love song always playing on the background, & after all the clashes, at the loving couple always finds peace in each other's arms. The characters are easy to relate with and storylines are simple, so they remain in your mind for a long time.
Recently Netflix released many RomCom movies, that I personally fell in love with. I can watch them again & again. Out of all the RomCom present on Netflix, here are the ones I found most lovable.
1. To All the Boys I've Loved Before
Cast: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo
When a teenage girl's secret love letters are accidentally mailed to each of her five crushes, Lara Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.
What I loved best about this movie was the amazing relationship between father and daughter, and among the sisters that are there for each other, no matter what the situation.
2. Set It Up
Cast: Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Lucy Liu, Taye Diggs
Two executive assistants have horrible workaholic bosses. So in desperate need of a break from the office, they team up in tricking their bosses to fall in love.
But it doesn't turn out the way they thought it would be. I liked the movie a lot and can watch it again. Their planning, quarrel, understanding make the movie so interesting.
3. Always be my Maybe
Cast: Ali Wong, Randall Park, James Sallo
Sasha (Ali Wong) and Marcus (Randall Park) were childhood friends. When they meet after 15 years, Sasha is a famous chef while Marcus is a hometown musician. They felt the old sparks of attractions but both struggle to adapt to each other's worlds.
This is a movie where they both have their differences and later they came to peace. The defining moment was when they both try to help each other in any way possible. They both really look well in the movie.
4. The Perfect Date
Cast: Noah Centineo, Laura Marano, Camila Mendes
This is nothing original but if you wanna watch some feel-good movie, then this would be great. To earn money for college, a high schooler launches an app offering his services as a fake date. But when he develops feelings for someone, his plan gets complicated.
I watched this movie because I really liked Noah Centineo in All the Boys I've Loved Before. But when I watched the movie, I found it super likable and a sweet, though a little complicated.
5. When We First Met
Cast: Adam Devine, Alexandra Daddario, Shelley Henning
When they first met on a date, Noah (Adam Devine) fell in love with Avery (Alexandra Daddario), thought her as his soulmate, but gets friend-zoned. After 3 years, she gets engaged with someone else. So, using a magical photo booth, he goes back in time over and over, just to make her fall in love with him.
This movie pleasantly surprised me as it has a time traveling concept. The movie and characters are very interesting. An amazing guy willing to do anything for his love is always worth watching.
6. The Kissing Booth
Cast: Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi
This a RomCom movie where a teenage girl (Joel King) falls in love with her best friend's (Joel Courtney) brother (Jacob Elordi). She is forced to confront her secret crush at a kissing booth.
This is a pure teen movie but had fun watching it. The main character is totally a hunk and the movie is very sweet and funny. Heroine’s hard decision to choose her best friend or her love is very admirable.
7. Like Father
Cast: Kristen Bell, Kelsey Grammer, Seth Rogan
After Rachel (Kristen Bell) is left at the altar, this workaholic advertising executive ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her estranged father (Kelsey Grammer).
I didn't expect much when I started watching the movie, but to my amusement, Like Father has a great storyline. Not like a RomCom, but it's worth mentioning in the list. The story is simple and meaningful, about connecting with people.
8. Murder Mystery
Cast: Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Luke Evans
On a long-awaited trip to Europe, a New York City cop and his hairdresser wife scramble to solve a baffling murder aboard a billionaire's yacht.
Adam Sandler is as always funny with interesting dialogues, and Jennifer Aniston is as always absolutely charming. They have lovely chemistry on screen. It's fun to watch the movie with your popcorn & coke. It has great comedy and a good storyline. Definitely, recommend!
Watch it on Netflix....
