These Crispy Air Fryer Zucchini Fries are gonna be your next favorite healthy snack. They have a crispy outer crust but are soft from the inside. Also, they are low-carb & Keto-friendly.

If you are looking for some healthy snacks to include in your diet, then this recipe of Zucchini Fries is perfect for you. Unlike potato fries, these Zucchini Fries are low-carb, and you will fell in love with the texture in an instant.
You can make these Crispy Zucchini Fries in Air Fryer or Oven. But I like making in the Air Fryer, as it takes less than 15 minutes, and the texture is unbelievably crispy. These are the perfect guilt-free food that you can enjoy any time of the day.
Along with these Zucchini Fries, you can also try other healthier Air Fryer Snacks like Jalapeno Poppers, Shishito Peppers, Roasted Asparagus, and Brussel Sprouts.
I was scared to try the zucchini fries at first. I have always had zucchini either roasted or in a curry. So having zucchini as fries sounded silly at that time. When I was on a low-carb diet, I was out of ideas for snacks. So finally, I gave these zucchini fries a try. And I was amazed by the result, not to mention they are one of the easiest food to try in an air fryer.
Plus, these Zucchini Fries in an Air Fryer are a great way to include veggies in the diet. Not all kids are a big fan of eating veggies. So this way, they can have veggies and with hardly any oil. So win-win for everyone. You can also make sweet potato fries, carrot fries in the air fryer too.
INGREDIENTS
- ZUCCHINI: Use small or medium zucchinis for the recipe. You can cut your zucchinis into ½-inch stalks or sticks.
- EGGS: I have used only the egg white for the recipe to make them low-carb. Also you can add some flour on the zucchinis.
- BREADCRUMBS: After dipping the zucchins in the eggs, next cover zucchins with the breadcrumbs. I have use panko breadcrumbs as they are more coarse & gives more crispier texture to the fries.
- SPICES: I like to add some spices to the eggs like paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, Itlian seasoning, etc.
- OIL: Spray soem cooking oil before air frying. That will help in giving the crispy texture to the zucchini fries.
TIPS TO REMEMBER
- Always preheat the air fryer first before you start adding the zucchini fries. Pre-heat air fryer at 400 degrees for 3-5 minutes.
- Cut zucchini into eqal size stalks or sticks.
- You can bread the zucchini with little bit of flour first. That way the eggs will stick to the zucchinis much better.
- Mix parmesan cheese with bread crumbs for a crispier texture to the fries.
- Bread the zucchinis with breadcrumbs properly & evenly.
- Work in batches & do not overcrowd the air fryer.
- Spray some oil before air fryer for better crust.
HOW TO MAKE ZUCCHINI FRIES
First, preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 3-5 minutes. Make sure not to miss this step. Because when the air fryer is preheated, then the food can be cooked quickly.
How to Cut Zucchinis
- Wash the zucchinis & then cut the zucchini from the middle.
- Then take one half and cut it into quarters.
- Take one quarter of zucchini and cut into 2-3 equal sized sticks. Repeat the process for rest of the zucchinis.
- Pat the zucchinis dry using a paper towel.
Let's Make the Fries
You can sprinkle some flour on the zucchinis (if you like).
Make the eggs mixture. Remove the egg yolks from the eggs and place the egg whites in a bowl. Add garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, black peppercorns, and salt. Whisk the ingredients until well combined.
In another bowl, take breadcrumbs. And if you like, you can also add some parmesan cheese.
Bread the Zucchinis
Take a zucchini stalk and dip it in the egg mixture. Then place it in the breadcrumbs & coat them evenly; place the zucchini stalks in the preheated air fryer.
Air Fry the Zucchinis
Arrange the zucchini in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry the zucchini fries in the air fryer at 390 degrees F for 5-10 minutes or until crispy & brown in color.

Preheat the oven at 425 degrees F for at least 10-15 minutes. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip zucchini in the eggs. Then bread them with the breadcrumbs mix. Place breaded zucchinis on the baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the baking sheet and leave a little space between two zucchinis. Bake the zucchini fries at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes or until golden brown & crispy.
Once cooked, let them come to room temperature. Then store the zucchini fries in freezer-safe containers or bags. You can keep them in the freezer for 2-3 months. Then, when you want to eat them again, just reheat them in the air fryer or in the oven for few minutes, and enjoy!
These Zucchini Fries work great with almost anything. They can be served with ketchup, yogurt dip, sriracha mayonnaise, aioli, or any other dipping sauce that you like.
Instead of using egg wash, you can make the flour batter. First, make the batter by adding flour & milk together. Whish the batter until it is lump-free. Then dip the zucchinis in the flour batter & bread them with the breadcrumbs. And then air fry or bake the zucchini fries in the oven.
Sometimes zucchini fries turn out a little soggy. As zucchinis have a lot of moisture. You can absorb the moisture from zucchinis by patting them dry using a paper towel. Next, make sure zucchinis are correctly breaded so that the zucchini fries will get a crispy crust. Air fry or Bake the fries until golden brown.

Removing the egg yolk does nothing to decrease carbs since yolks are not a carb they’re a fat. And adding breading just increases carbs.
Besides, carbs are good for you.
